The purpose of this part of the website is give guidance on where to stay in Seville. The choice may depend on many factors, and on the desires of each person. Selection may also be affected by current events such as roadworks. Anyone booking our services before their visit to Seville may contact us via email to get up to date information on where the latest set of works are taking place, to ensure the most comfortable stay.
It is not our intention to recommend particular hotels or to book them on behalf of customers. However, what we have decided to do is to recommend the PEOPLE that work in the hotels, where we like them and they think the same way we do about customers (for example Pilar the director of YH Giralda used to work for us so we know they offers the best customer service). We can´t tell you whether the rooms are nice or the service good, but we generally find that where the people have the right attitude (especially from the owner downwards) the quality is normally high. We would like to add though that just because a hotel doesn't appear on the list doesn't mean that it is not recommendable - it is just not possible to get to know every one of them that well.
We have selected a number of partner hotels who think like we do, who have a dynamic and innovative attitude towards the products and services they deliver. We have included their websites so that you can take a look and satisfy yourself that any given hotel is the right one for you. If you like what you see, it is also worth checking the site Sevilla5 and their new site Veoapartment before booking. This is an excellent local company who has close relationships with many hotels in the city, and sometime you can get better prices through them than if you book direct. For hostals and pensions the best are sleepngo, particularly useful where the accommodation does not have its own website or on-line booking facility. There is also a good site that specialises in small, friendly hotels. We can also recommend the website Trip Advisor where you can read reviews from customers who have stayed at the various establishments.
Please note the area that each hotel is located in is shown as well - all 3 areas are in the old town within the old city walls, although Macarena is further away from the main tourist attractions.

Here is a summary of the main central districts in Seville and other districts slightly further out which may be of interest as areas to visit as well as stay. Where possible we have given the advantages and disadvantages of staying in these areas:-
El Arenal
Area where the stunning bullring is located, close to the river, good walking.
La Macarena
Lesser known area of Seville, slightly more run down in places but pleasant walking area with its share of places to see.
Santa Cruz
Central location for everything, very quaint with narrow streets and fantastic buildings, but fairly touristy.
Centro
The very heart where you will find the main council buildings, extensive shopping area, banks etc. The pedestrianisation of the Avenida de Constitución (which passes the Cathedral) means that access to this area has become a little more difficult. Buses no longer run from the Plaza Mayor, instead leaving from Puerta de Jerez.
Alfalfa
Similar to Santa Cruz but less touristy, more local feel to it. In the heart of the narrow lanes with beautiful churches, convents etc. Good eating places with mix of younger and older clients. There are some busy roads running through this area, and these roads can also be a little noisy at night with revellers returning home. Good double-glazing will put paid to this though!
Triana
Area west of the river, famous for being where many of the Easter parade participants begin. Quiet, pretty street with pleasant riverside walks.
Nervion
Where many of the rich and famous live in Seville. Famous for its shopping, and the football ground of Seville FC. More modern area with wide streets, very Spanish area.
When deciding where to stay in the city, we suggest you take the following into account:-
-
Driving and parking in the city. Remember that Seville has a relatively large pedestrian-only area which is being expanded, plus in areas such as Santa Cruz and Alfalfa, the street are VERY narrow and its easy to get lost. If you are coming by car, check to see if your hotel has parking, and if not find out if there is parking nearby. Some hotels claim they have parking when really this is just access to public parking nearby which you will pay normal rates. Also think about when to travel. In Spain there are almost 2 rush hours; office workers generally begin at 8.30-9.00am, but most shops do not open until 10am, parking around this time can be VERY difficult. Also bear in mind that virtually everywhere closes at 2pm for lunch, (normally until 4.30-5.00pm), which means a mass exodus around this time.
-
Hotel facilities, air conditioning is essential, especially from June through to September - without it you may not be able to sleep!
-
Language. Most of the better hotels have staff that speak excellent English, but owners and employees in smaller hotels and especially pensions/hostels will often only speak the odd word! We continually work with this community, offering our services to their customers, because we feel we can add significant value to them. If you are having difficulties, please call us and we will see what we can do. If we are free we wil pop down to see you, do some introductions. We won't charge for this service as this gives us the chance to develop our relations with the hotel owners. Plus if you have a better time as a result, maybe you will recommend us to your friends.
