Getting to Seville

Access to the city has greatly improved with the arrival of the low-cost airlines, both to Seville San Pablo airport and to the airport at Jerez that is about 100km away, excellent motorway connection with tolls (around 5 euros). The airport is situated 12km from the city centre.

Airlines:-

Ryanair flies from Gatwick, Stansted and Liverpool to Seville, and from Stansted to Jerez

Easyjet flies from Gatwick

Air Berlin offers flights from Stansted.

Vueling offers services to Heathrow.

To get to the city centre from the airport, there is the choice of taxi or local bus.  The bus costs around 2.50 euros and goes half-hourly (weekdays) or hourly (weekends and holidays).  The first bus is around 6am, the last around 11pm.  Timetable

Trains:-

Seville's Santa Justa station (Avenida Kansas City) is on the national high-speed train network (AVE) linking it to Madrid via Cordoba, with a journey time of only around 2.5 hours! This has become the main means of travelling to and from the capital, having broken the dominance of the airlines. There are also trains to the beautiful and historical cities of Cadiz and Jerez de la Frontera. Train travel in Spain is generally cheaper than in the UK, although prices are higher for the AVE connections. For train details see the Renfe website.

Coaches:-

Seville has 2 major bus terminals that links it to all major destinations in the country.  The Prado de San Sebastian station serves towns within the province of Seville: (Utrera, Morón, Estepa, Carmona, Alcalá de Guadaira, Écija), Córdoba, Granada, Cádiz, Jaén, Málaga, Almería, Jerez de la Frontera, Algeciras, Ronda, Marbella, etc. The Plaza de Armas station serves Madrid, Southern Portugal, Lisboa, Huelva, Huelva coast, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Mérida, towns within the province of Seville, Asturias, Galicia, northern Spain, foreign countries.  Coach travel is cheap and comfortable. If you have sufficient time during your stay, we recommend a visit to the breathtaking mountain town of Ronda taking the coach. The journey takes you through the striking plains around Seville, up into the mountains with views of the white mountain villages. Trips to the Costa de la Luz are also recommended, to see the Atlantic coast with its golden sand beaches and historic Spanish fishing villages.

Car:-

There are excellent motorways connecting Seville to most of the major cities nearby.  Some of the roads are toll roads, for example Seville - Jerez.
